It Takes a Village
With mounting pressure to teach more content to more students catering to a wider variety of learning styles with smaller budgets,
we have pushed our schools to the brink. We claim that education of our children is a priority — and we all agree that “It
Takes a Village” — but everyone seems to be waiting for that village to step up to the plate. In Enumclaw and Black Diamond,
Washington, our communities understand that we are that village.
Free Tutoring for All Students in All SubjectsWe are committed to supporting our school system in providing Equal Opportunity To Learn (EOTL) through three community supported venues: our own Drop-In Tutoring Centers; Online Tutoring via our Virtual Campus; and, the Enumclaw School District Extended Learning Program*.The Enumclaw + Black Diamond Tutoring (EBT) Program is completely community-supported, and free to all students. Enumclaw and Black Diamond are excited and proud to demonstrate what small communities can accomplish in support of education and student learning. We aim to convey to other communities around the world a successful model for making the EOTL a priority and a reality in the lives of students. The EBT program represents a unique opportunity to make a powerful and positive difference in the lives of our children, by actively helping to prepare them for the future through education. *Note: While service for our tutors is free, the School District requires a $40 fee for each Extended Learning Program session ($20 if qualified for a scholarship). |
